Ector County Judge Dustin Fawcett, Odessa Mayor Javier Joven, and Odessa Economic Development Corporation Board Chairman Kris Crow announced today their respective entities will be hosting a joint work session of County Commissioners’ Court, City Council, and the Economic Development Corporation.
“This is the first meeting of its kind between our three entities with the purpose of getting our newly elected elected and appointed officials on the same page, an expectation that I believe every citizen of our county has. I believe this is an important first step in working towards common goals that serves the great citizens of Ector County,” said Judge Fawcett.
“It is important for our city and county officials to be on the same page with our interlocal agreements as well as our common vision for how government serves the citizens into the future. In order to best serve the citizens of Odessa, we must have a great relationship with our partners on the Commissioners’ Court,” explained Mayor Joven.
“Economic Development in Ector County and the city of Odessa rely on the cooperation of these two institutions. The fact that these two institutions are willing to sit down and work together towards common goals is a bright light, especially when it comes to economic development. This shows good will and positive developments to all of the citizens as well as site selectors and potential businesses looking to move into the area,” exclaims ODC Board Chairman Crow.
The meeting will take place beginning at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the Electronics and Technology Building on the Odessa Campus. The meeting will take place in the Saulsbury Conference Room.
The agenda for this meeting will be posted in accordance with (insert local government code regarding postings) 72 hours in advance with the accompanying agenda.
