Two positions on the Odessa College Board of Trustees have become vacant, and applications are now being accepted by the college from qualified residents of each district to be appointed into the offices for the remainder of the unexpired terms.
The districts include Places 4 and 5 on the Board of Trustees, which is the elected governing body that oversees the community college.
With the 2020 census redistricting completed, new boundary lines were drawn and adopted by the board on May 24, and applicants for the two vacancies must reside within the new boundary lines to qualify for the offices.

In addition to being a resident within the new boundary lines, applicants must be registered voters.
Those interested in applying for the vacancies must complete an application of interest and submit it by June 30.
Applicants are also encouraged to contact Ken Zartner, Vice President of Administrative Services at kzartner@odessa.edu for more information.
Hopeful applicants will replace two outgoing Trustees, including Larry Johnson, who served in District 5, and J.E. “Coach” Pressly, who served in District 4.
Once appointed, the new Trustees will serve out the remainder of the unexpired terms, which last until 2027.
