Citing frustration with the direction taken by past ECISD bond committees, a
citizen-led group headed by local business owners Jamie Tisdale and Jeff
Russell has announced the formation of  “A Better Way Forward.”

According to a press release issued today “A Better Way Forward” seeks to
address ECISD facility needs in a manner that is equitable to all four corners
of Ector County.

“What we saw in the recently failed bond election was a lot of frustration that the solutions offered by ECISD did little to balance the needs of our district with the needs of our students and taxpayers” wrote committee leader Jamie Tisdale, adding further “We are hopeful that we can assemble a diverse group of participants from across our county and develop thoughtful solutions that take into account the geography of our vast county, the needs of our students, and the burdens placed on our taxpayers.”

The first meeting of “A Better Way Forward” is in the planning stages and is expected to occur the week after the July 4th holiday. Ector County residents who are interested in participating are encouraged to email ECISDBetterWay@gmail.com.

Additional details will be posted as they become available.
