Odessa attorney Lori Ruiz-Crutcher has defeated opponent Cindy Weir-Nutter in the Republican Primary Runoff Election for the office of State District Judge of the 244th District Court covering Ector County.
Crutcher led Nutter consistently with a roughly 60/40 lead as early voting results were released.
Final results showed Crutcher sweeping the election with 2,122 or 56.54 percent to Nutter’s 1,631 or 43.46 percent.
“I’m thrilled with the results,” Crutcher told Odessa Headlines in an exclusive statement following her victory, saying further, “The voters have spoken, and I look forward to serving Ector County and making everyone proud.”
With the retirement of incumbent Judge James Rush, the race was for an open seat with a four-year term beginning in 2023.
With no opponents in November, Crutcher will assume office in January 2023.
